Our team recently completed a project for a client who wanted to create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow with their new extension featuring bi-fold doors. They also wanted to incorporate planting areas for their horticultural interests. The pre-existing garden was tired and in need of a transformation, so we were up for the challenge.
To begin the process, our installation team used a mini digger and dumper to efficiently clear out the space. We carefully worked around some existing plants that the client wanted to keep. After removing the waste, we installed new fences to give the boundary a clean finish, and laid a new sub base using type 2 MOT. The sub base was compacted with a whacker plate to provide solid foundations.
Once the sub base was complete, we marked out the planting areas and shaped the patio using spray paint. We then installed an Indian Sandstone patio with a Raj Blend Sandstone Circle Kit, which features grey and green highlights and a light riven surface. The patio was finished with 100 x 100 Indian sandstone sets for a professional and textured effect.
Finally, we added top soil to the planting areas for the client to use for their plants and 20mm Cotswold stones to create a path which gives easy access to planting areas. The end result is a beautiful and low maintenance space that offers a seamless transition from the indoors to the outdoors with areas for the client to enjoy with her plants.
