Design process

Designing a garden is a creative and enjoyable process. Here are some steps Garden Designer will take when preparing a Landscape Design for your garden:

Design brief

It is important to clearly define what you want your garden to achieve. Are you looking for a space for relaxation, entertainment, growing food, or something else? What features and materials are important to you? We obtain all of this information through our design brief which you can complete here

Site survey

Through our in-depth site surveys, we understand the conditions of your site, such as its location, size, shape, soil, sun exposure, and drainage. This will help us to choose materials and plants that will thrive in your garden.

Draft design

We create a rough design using our garden design software. This will give you a good idea of the overall design and help you to visualise the different elements of the garden. The draft design will focus predominantly on hardscaping elements such as paths, walls, and water features in your garden. These elements can help to define space and provide structure to the garden.

Review and refine

Once we have a draft design we will review it and refine it with you as needed. You will be invited to a video call and one free amendment round where you can tweak your design until you're happy. Involving you in the design process helps us to deliver a product that you love at the end.

Final design

When you are happy with the design we will send you an invite link to your project files. These will include folders containing your 2D plan, 3D images and a design 3D video. You can then add lighting and planting plans to your design proposal if you wish.

Lighting plan

Lighting can greatly enhance the ambience of a garden at night. Consider adding low-voltage lighting to highlight certain features or create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Lighting plans can be bolted onto your project for an additional fee.

Planting plan

Our horticulturists know everything there is to know about plants. They will help you to choose plants that will thrive in the conditions of your site and that will achieve the goals you have set for your garden. They will consider the maturity, growth habits, colours, textures, and bloom times of your plants.
